Today I wanted to share with you one of my favorite recipes when it comes to deserts...
I made it for Easter this year but I've made it in the past for two years now :).
Chocolate Mouse Torte...
Ingredients:
-37 Nilla Wafers
-4 squares bakers semi-sweet chocolate
-2 packages of Jello instant pudding in chocolate
-2 cups & 2 tbsp cold milk
-2 tubs of cool whip
-1 package of cream cheese - softened
-1/4 cup of sugar
-3/4 cup of fresh fruit {I've used strawberries and raspberries}
-plastic wrap
-9" pan - round
{If you like you can make this desert with 2% milk, fat free cool whip, & 1/3 less fat cream cheese & it taste the exact same}
What to do with all of that lovely stuff...
Stand 16 wafer around your 9" pan that has been lined with plastic wrap. Melt three squares of the bakers chocolate.
Next beat pudding & two cups of milk for two minutes.
Add melted chocolate and mix well. Stir in 1 cup of cool whip. Then pour that into your pan.
Now beat together the cream cheese, sugar, 2 tbsp of milk, & 1 cup of cool whip till it's smooth. Spread this over your chocolate mix that is already in the pan. place a layer of wafers over it and chill for 3 hours {chill the desert not you, well you can chill while you are waiting lol}.
meanwhile {before you chill for a bit} take the last chocolate square and shave into curls. You can soften it and then use a veggie peeler for this.
After 3 hours is up take the torte and flip it over onto a place so the chocolate side is facing up. Top with cool whip, your fruit and then your chocolate curls & TADA a pretty yummy desert!!
Hope you enjoy it & have fun!
I'm linking up to these great parties!
